As reported by the San Jose Mercury News, A 31-year-old Los Gatos man died Thursday night after losing control of his Yamaha motorcycle and colliding into the concrete center median on Highway 17, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Santa Clara County coroner’s office has identified the man as Michael Eugene Predac.
The accident happened about 10 p.m. The motorcyclist was traveling north at an unknown speed on Highway 17 just before Redwood Estates, according to the CHP. He lost control, collided into the center divide and was thrown onto the roadway.
The man, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene.
It is not known if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. Northbound lanes of 17 were closed for about four hours.
