Put yourself in the Driver’s Seat for Cheap Car Insurance
January is car insurance renewal time for a large number of the nation’s drivers who either picked up their vehicles as Christmas presents in years gone by, or took advantage of new-year rebates from dealers and manufacturers.
For most people, buying a car is one of the biggest financial commitments they will make, accounting for between four and five per cent of household income. However, the payments don’t once you’ve made your purchase – maintenance, petrol, and crucially, car insurance premiums all eat away at our bank balances.
Yet you could save hundreds of pounds each year by shopping around for cheap car insurance.
The emergence of car insurance comparison tools means that you can receive quotes from dozens of providers in seconds just by entering some simple details about yourself and the car you drive. When you compare car insurance in this way, not only will you receive numerous quotes instead of just one (helping you to find a cheaper policy), but you’ll save a lot of time too.
You can even search for manufacturer specific policies – such as BMW car insurance – helping you find the cheapest quotes for the car you drive.
It is important however, to look beyond price and consider what is included and excluded in each policy. Does your insurer offer a courtesy car in the event of a breakdown? What is the excess charged? Always read the small print.
The deals are out there, so don’t just accept your current insurer’s renewal quote. Shop around and you could have more money to spend on the high street.

Actually, from some of the questions we see here from the UK, that's not too bad. Premiums in the UK seem exorbitant compared to those in the US, which are bad enough at your age.
Wish I could be more helpful. You might try phoning several agents directly to see if they can help.

There's no such thing as cheap car insurance for a 17 year old. Drivers under age 25 are the highest risk group to insure.

I would suggest going online and getting several quotes. I had geico at one time, and at the end of the term I did some research and found that State Farm was less than half.

you may have a great driving record or you drive less than you did before… also, i believe women get a clean sheet when they turn 21 and that can positively affect your cost

There is no magic "cheap" insurance company. You must simply call and get several quotes, then choose what suits you best

Not all states allow marriage to be a rating factor, and not all companies include it. When I married my husband, we saw a $15 drop in the rate.
What someone else pays for their duplex – or single family home (totally different!!) is going to depend wildly on the location and credit score, among other things. It can run you anywhere from $250 a year to $2,000, for $100,000 of coverage, depending on locatio, and policies needed (homeowners, wind, flood, earthquake).
