At least you can do is call the company you post dated the check to, tell them you are a financial disater waiting to happen and see if they can help you out in any way before you put yourself in deep legal

Put more emphasis on trust and legitimacy when you decided. Obviously a low rate is important but considering how many different payday loan companies exists, I think its wise to choose one of the "big guys".
What I mean is use Money Mart or one of their direct competitors, that way you can expect a certain level of service and respect (disrespect in the payday loan, special finance industry can be a real problem). If they don't offer you the respect and service you deserve, at least with a large company, you can fall back on their guarantees and shareholders.
To get the lowest rate, shop around between the big companies…ie. compare rates between Money Mart and their direct competitors.

I agree with the 2nd answer, pull up your credit report. You can get one free one a year over the internet, and it isn't that hard to read because it will list all of the company's info: name, address, phone, ect…

Before you can open a new checking account, your new bank will pull your credit report(s). And they will see that you 'stiffed' your old bank for 80 bucks. Do you really think they will want you as a new customer?? Why would they not think you would do the same thing to them, as you did to your old bank??
